RUP Fundamentals
What is RUP?
RUP- Rational Unified Process - is an object oriented software
development process, developed by Rational company. This process has gained a
global attention among other processes of its generation and is now being used
by many of the world’s prominent software companies.
Who should attend these courses?
These courses subject different team members in different roles. It consists of
five courses - RUP1, RUP2, RUP3, RUP4, RUP5 - which are planed to introduce
participants with the basic concepts in RUP . Every participant should attend
the RUP1- Basic concepts in RUP course- before moving to other RUP
role-specific courses based on his role(s) in projects.
What are the goals of these courses?
Since RUP covers a vast field of activities, it requires special trainings.
Many companies and organizations couldn’t put RUP into practice due to lack of
knowledge and advice while many other are benefiting from this process all over
the world.
The RUP course series have been designed to get the participants acquainted with
RUP specifications and help them tune it for their company.
Duration: 4 hrs
RUP Fundamentals
This course provides the fundamental concepts, required for
participants of RUP2 to RUP5 courses. It gives the participants an overview of
RUP, its goals, history, structure, technical words and expressions. Finally
introducing the available case tools.
This helps the participants get started with the RUP from their own field of
work and choose their right RUP course from RUP2 – RUP5.
Duration: 8 hrs

RUP from Requirement Analysis and Software Analysis and Design viewpoint
This course subjects the system analysts, designers and software architects. In
this course the required activities for the requirement analysis and system
analysis and design along with their artifacts and their structures are
discussed. Finally the available case tools for these purposes are introduced.
Duration: 6 hrs
Prerequisites: RUP1
RUP from Implementation, Test and Deployment viewpoint
This course subjects the software implementers, testers and quality control
managers.
In this course the required activities for the implementation, deployment,
creating test plan, testing system components and subsystem and managing
product quality control along with their artifacts and their structures are
discussed. Finally the available case tools for these purposes are introduced.
Duration: 8 hrs
Prerequisites: N/A
RUP from Configuration, Environment and Project Change Management viewpoint
This course provides the participants with the software configuration,
platform and project change management activities in RUP. A software project
can never be
RUP-compatible without having an approach for configuration and change
management. Finally the available case tools for these purposes are introduced.
Duration: 6 hrs
Prerequisites: N/A
RUP from Project Management viewpoint
Management of software projects that are performed in team work and
based on special configured RUP’s, require vast knowledge and experience; which
is due to the diversity and extendibility of activities in such projects.
This course is not designed to teach software project management. The purpose of
this course is to give an overview of a software project manager’s activities.
This can launch further study and experience in software project management. At
the course end the available case tools for these purposes are introduced.
